Relationship Between Laziness And Procrastination

Have you tried to do your work but you feel like you are not in the mood to do it, you want to do some other simple little things instead of focusing on the task that you know will be the more productive? That is a clear example of procrastination, but sometimes we call it laziness is there a relationship between those?

Laziness is when a person lacks of desire to perform a work or task, usually depends on the social standards what is considered laziness. Procrastination is postponing doing a work due to a number of reasons.

I person that procrastinate might be doing some work that is irrelevant or small little task to avoid doing the major task that needs to be done and maybe require a lot more focus and work.

I believe that there is a relationship between laziness and procrastination, however a person that procrastinate might not be always lazy, but a lazy person always procrastinates and finds excuses not to do the work that has to be done.

I person that procrastinates is not always a lazy person because it depends on what is the cause, for example it might be due to anxiety, a low self esteem, a negative mentality, it might lack of clear goals, the standards to make the goal are not clear, the work was imposed, those are a few of the causes of people that procrastinate.

Also people that tend to seek perfection have this problem, they are not lazy but they want to have all the pieces together and want to make everything be perfect, they dont want to make mistakes, so they delay the work until they are sure that it can be done to their standards.

This affects students a lot, some procrastinate because they dont know where to begin the work or if they are doing it right, while others procrastinate just because they are lazy and dont have the desire or time to do the work they have to.
