Why procrastination is the Thief of Time |
We all have things to do and goals to accomplish, time is limited and we want to get more things done in less time. However, for some reason
many people just dont do the things they know they have to do to be
successful and finish their projects, work or tasks. What we know for sure,
is that procrastination is the thief of time, if you dont control it
you are wasting time.
There are many reason why people avoid doing things, sometimes it seems
strange why even knowing what they have to do to be successful they
dont do it. There is people with so much talent and abilities that never
accomplish anything because they get sidetracked by the lack of focus
and waste of time.
When you are procrastinating you are losing precious time that you will
never get back. There are so many things that you can do to have a
better life. If you have financial problems but you make good use of your
time you can increase your earnings. If you are a student you should
get done your homework right away so later you can do other things that
you like.
But how can you stop procrastination? it depends in each person, some
people are just frustrated and think that they dont have the abilities
and talent to accomplish a complex task so they make excuses to postpone
the work.
If you want to get rid of this problem, the first thing that you have
to do is, make a plan and schedule of what you want to accomplish each
day and in how much time. You need to set deadlines every day and follow
your schedule at all costs.
Make a list of the most important things that you have to do and do it.
If you keep thinking in unimportant things that you want to do, just
make 20 minute deadlines. Focus on your work for 20 minutes without
distraction and then take a small rest, then continue for another 20
minutes.
This way you can keep track of how much you are moving forward every
hour and every day, when you start seeing some important improvements and
accomplishments, you will get motivated to get more done without
losing time on irrelevant tasks.
